Acupuncture Needling

Acupuncture needling is one of the world's oldest and most extensively researched forms of natural medicine. At JSV Padha Sigichai in Madurai, our certified practitioner uses this precise, time-tested technique to address pain, restore energy flow, and help the body rebalance itself from within.

The practice is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which views health as a balance of vital energy flowing through pathways called meridians. When this flow is blocked or disrupted, pain, fatigue, and illness follow. Acupuncture needling uses ultra-fine, sterile needles inserted at specific points along these meridians to clear blockages and restore the natural flow of energy.

From a modern physiological standpoint, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system to release endorphins and serotonin, reduces inflammatory markers, and promotes local blood circulation. Clinical research supports its effectiveness for chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, stress, anxiety, insomnia, and digestive disorders.

At our Madurai centre, we see clients who have tried conventional approaches to their pain without lasting success. Acupuncture often succeeds where medication has failed — not because it is magic, but because it works with the body's own systems rather than overriding them. Many clients report sleeping better and experiencing less pain within the first two sessions.

Our needles are single-use, pre-sterilised, and of the highest quality. Each session begins with a detailed intake to understand your health history, current symptoms, and goals. The needle placement is precise and individual — because no two people are the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture needling hurt?
Most people feel little to no pain during the procedure. The needles are extremely fine — much thinner than a hypodermic needle. You may feel a slight pinch, a dull ache, or a warming sensation at the insertion point, which is normal and indicates the needle is stimulating the correct point.
Is acupuncture needling safe?
Yes. We use only sterile, single-use needles that are disposed of immediately after each session. Our practitioner is certified in acupuncture technique. The procedure carries minimal risk when performed by a trained professional in a hygienic environment.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
Some clients experience noticeable relief after their very first session. For chronic or complex conditions, a course of 6–10 sessions over 4–6 weeks is typically recommended to consolidate results.
